Sophie's Poem-2010
Happy New Year Sophie Sue
This year has been quite memorable for you.
From having the TV falling on your leg to McD’s Dates,
We’ve actually started charging for your stories at a pretty high rate!
First off and this is funny
You have your position, your belly button on your tummy.
Every time we look at you, this is true
We have to leave your PJ’s open just so you can do.
Mr. Bob and Central Market are your self-declaired names
Every meal we find you on my lap just the same.
You threw up at are valentine’s dinner all over the place,
Daddie nicknamed you Sophie “Von Trap”…
because of the hair not in your face.
Jewel Ann calls you “Sopie” and this makes me laugh,
Little Ann and you kiss with your tongues…
and you have no problem with that.
Sophie Sue, you are so sweet and I still pray
That wisdom would be your mark as you live each day.
Beware of evil and flee from evil
I pray you’ll know God and know there’s no equal.
For He loves you with an everlasting love
We are grateful to you from our Father up above.
I Love You,
Dad
Addie's Christmas Poem-2010
Happy New Year little lady so cute
Its about to be 2011 and there’s not a moment to loose
So put on your listening ears and away we go
I’d like to recall our last year together…
Talk about things like parties, dolls and snowglobes!
This year was the year of questions, so curious and bright,
You wondered about snow, the sky and the beginning of man, God’s Delight.
One of the cutest things you said this year was in the car;
You asked, “But where did God get all that white yarn?”
Why it was funny to your mother and I
Was that that Mom just explained where babies come from…
that is the womb from Psalm 139.
I remember early on that Mama taught you how to rhyme.
You walked about the house without a care for time.
Singing Belle songs and dancing up a storm
You’ll be a big sister again with the coming baby to be born.
Also this year was the year of the bed,
Sophie and you giggle and just laugh off your head.
Sometimes I would come in at night and see you two so close
Sometimes I would wake you up with a tickle of the toes.
You had your big Princess Party-What a Whirl!
You got your first matching dress doll-an American Girl.
Tying your shoes was lots of fun,
Staying at the Geigers too was once a month.
And now, to cap it off this year,
I want to tell you something that might bring a tear.
I still pray everyday for your heart so pure,
That you would see clearly the things of God, not a blur.
That I would encourage you every step of the way,
And hold you tight, but not too tight all your days.
I Love You!
Dad

"4 Legged Race"
Hannah busted out an idea for a party of having a "4-legged race".
Sophie chipped her tooth and busted her eye open today.
Addie sang, "waves of mercy, waves of grace, everywhere I look I see your face. Your love has made me hungry...
i love my girls.

Saying "no" to Kisses
Well...maybe we're teaching our two girls to guard their hearts and affections a little too much. Sophie, who knows a few words and is just beginning to learn how to use them in the right context has just learn to use the word "no". Here's how it goes...
"Sophie, could I have a kiss please?"
"No" she says in her sweet little voice.
"Please Sophie? Maybe one on the cheeck?"
"No."
Sophie, guard your heart, but open it up a little bit more to your daddy. I like the way you are starting in regards to kissing boys, but honestly, get those lips a little looser.
Dad.
