"4 Legged Race"

Hannah busted out an idea for a party of having a "4-legged race".

Sophie chipped her tooth and busted her eye open today.

Addie sang, "waves of mercy, waves of grace, everywhere I look I see your face. Your love has made me hungry...

i love my girls.

Saying "no" to Kisses

Well...maybe we're teaching our two girls to guard their hearts and affections a little too much. Sophie, who knows a few words and is just beginning to learn how to use them in the right context has just learn to use the word "no". Here's how it goes...

"Sophie, could I have a kiss please?"

"No" she says in her sweet little voice.

"Please Sophie? Maybe one on the cheeck?"

"No."

Sophie, guard your heart, but open it up a little bit more to your daddy. I like the way you are starting in regards to kissing boys, but honestly, get those lips a little looser.

Dad.

"Africots"

funny note: Addie has been calling "Apricots" "Africots" lately. We haven't corrected her yet. Actually, we've adopted the new word into our home and prefer it.

Addie's Poem-2009

Now it is time for your Christmas poem!
The Poem Tradition just started! Oh No!
I would like to write a poem to you each year,
And read them at Christmas to bring cheer.
You’ll have to forgive me in advance,
For a little silly they will be, there’s a chance.
But so too, they will be sweet
I’ll tell the number of ways I love you, and remind you of all your feats.

So this year, in 2009
I remember the way you began to grow into a young lady fine.
Your hair so curly and your eyes so blue,
Daddy’s going to have to start carrying a big stick for you!
You loved to do crafts with you mommy so much,
You began to do cheers, wear pony tails, and jump-toe touch!

Your favorite food, we found out was gluten-free
You love your rice crackers and your ice tea.
Yes, yes, you are a mama’s girl,
You love to mix Jason’s Deli’s icecream in a swirl (twist).

And now, right now in this Christmas time of cheer.
I’d like to say “Thank you” for letting me be your Daddy this year.
It was the greatest year of our lives, this much is true
We’ll love you forever, all the way to the moon.

I love you,

Dad

Sophie's Poem-2009

December 25th, 2009

Christmas has come and now it is true
This is the second Christmas, you with us, number two.
What a joy you’ve been, what a sweet little babe,
Despite the crying for 0-3 months straight!

2009 was quite a year for you and us,
We tried cloth dipers for you, and they went off without a bust!
On your first birthday you took one step, then two,
You already had teeth by then! Quite a few! (4)

You really like your sister and love to play and play
Your mom and I watch you as you smile away.
We can’t believe that God has given you to us to love and care,
We are humbled to be your parents, which is why we spank your bottom bare!

So now is a time to close and be sweet,
Your Daddy loves you so much He’d squeeze till your red beat.
I love to sing to you and feel you nestled in my neck
Just one week ago, a highlight! You learned how to give me a peck! (kiss)
To bring you up in the Lord is what we are called to do,
We committ our lives to this very thing, our little Sophie Sue!

I Love You,

Dad
